In this edition we have news about the new ephedrine law and about the 10 year anniversary of the smart shop phenomenon. We have 2 new forums at our discussion board, some new products in our store and we recently updated all of our prices, with some nice special offers for you!

New ephedrine law

First of all the bad news. The European commission wants the Netherlands to adapt to the ephedrine law that is already in effect in some other countries.

This could mean that soon a capsule may only contain 8mg of ephedrine instead of the now already safe dosage of 50mg. And on the long term the substance ephedra could even fall under the medicine law.

Don't worry too much though; Azarius is already on the look out for some good substitutes.

New Products in the Azarius Store

Autumn season is mushroom season. Whether you take a stroll in the forest or check out the shop decorations, they're everywhere!

So it's the perfect time to introduce our two new mushroom cultivation products, the Shroom Shaker (on the right) and the Psilocybe Azurescens Spawn Bag.

Psilocybe Azurescens Spawn Bag
The Psilocybe Azurescens mushroom is considered the most potent mushroom of the Psilocybe family. Unlike most mushrooms which are cultivated indoors, this mushroom is highly suitable for outdoor cultivation. It grows very well on woodchips. In North Europe the best time to start is around spring. In South-Europe and other warmer climates, the best time to start is between September and December. What you need is a 5 liter bag of woodchips, a place to grow them outdoors (50 cm x 50 cm with enough shade) and this spawn bag. It is enough to inoculate a 5 liter bag of woodchips. Woodchips can be bought at almost any local gardening store. Includes approximately 25 grams of Psilocybe Azurescens mycelium and complete instructions.

Wild dagga (Leonitus Leonorus)
This herb is also known as Lion's Tail. Wild Dagga leaves were smoked by the Hottentot tribe of Central Africa for a euphoric effect. Wild Dagga is one of the most effective legal herbal alternatives to tobacco and cannabis known to man. The main active alkaloid is leonurine. The effect is comparable to cannabis, only milder. In combination with cannabis it is said to have a synergistic effect.

Libido Power
An aphrodisiac for men and women. Libido Power will make you feel less inhibited when showing your feelings and you will submit faster to sexual advances. During sex you will go further than you normally dare to because you will feel less shame. Due to a balanced combination of herbs the user will experience feelings of warmth and relaxation. This feeling is caused by the opening of the blood vessels, so blood will be able to flow easier through the body. Libido Power contains: L-Arginine, Tribulus Terrestris extract, Catuaba (Juniperis brasilinsis), Epimedium extract, Yohimbe extract and Ginkgo biloba extract.

Supernova
Supernova is a new energizer based on Sida cordifolia extract. Sida cordifolia is another plant containing ephedrine. Because it comes in liquid form it is taken up much faster by the body than caps or the herb.

Smart shop phenomenon celebrates its 10th anniversary

Luckily we also have some good news. Exactly 10 years ago Conscious Dreams opened the world's first smart shop in Amsterdam.

The authorities had no adequate response, creating an ongoing confusion in the Dutch legal system which continues to this day. Back then the concept was called 'gallery and lifestyle shop' to evade the strict laws concerning closing hours.

The name smart shop came only later from the U.S. Starting with synthetic XTC like products geared specially for the then booming rave scene, these were soon confiscated by the police and had to be substituted for herbal products such as magic mushrooms.

These mushrooms were such a success that soon many shops followed in their footsteps, sprouting up just like the product they were selling. After 10 years the smart shop has become a household concept in the whole of the Netherlands.

Not only the psychonautic avant-garde but also tourists, house-wives and off duty police officers easily find their way to the many smart shops in the country. Congratulations Conscious Dreams!
